How it works

Using the cut optimiser

Basic workflow

  1. Set kerf and any edge trim.
  2. Add the stock sheet sizes available.
  3. Add every required rectangular piece and quantity.
  4. Calculate, inspect the layouts, then print or export the cut table.

Grain and rotation

Stock grain describes the direction across the full sheet. Piece grain describes the direction across that piece before rotation. A piece only rotates when the resulting grain direction remains compatible.

CSV import

The importer accepts the included combined template. It also recognises keyed sheet-plan CSV rows using N, K, LT, RT, TT, BT, S and P row identifiers.

About the result

The layouts are generated with repeated guillotine-packing heuristics. They are practical cutting plans, but highly constrained jobs may still benefit from a manual review.
